warranty info?
Hey all, im at about 31k miles and had some questions about my warranty that maybe someone has had some experience with?
Just some background info: 2008 31,xxx miles extended aftermarket warranty Ive heard all of the horror stories about being rejected for a reman and i dont want that to happen to me. Anyway, my question is that i do not want to pay the stealerships exorbitant price for my 30k service for replacing coils and plugs etc etc etc and wondering if i did the service myself would that void my warranty since it was not done through mazda? I also have a aftermarket warranty through zurich and also have the same question, though i think even less of you would know about that unfortunately. Thanks. |
Routine maintenance doesn't void warrantees.
Be sure to keep oil and filter receipts, along with the plugs and coils records. |
Just make sure you keep all the receipts on everything you've done maintenance wise.

So I do all my own maintenance at the shop I work at. I have the receipts saved from the oil filters I bough from local Mazda dealer parts counter. Also I use the "My Mazda" section on the Mazda USA website to fill out all my service intervals and miles. In the spot for "service facility" I put the name of the shop I work at.
Will this be enough proof for proper maintenance procedure if I should need any warranty replacement in the future? |
^You should be fine. Under federal law, you are allowed to perform your own maintenance. Just keep doing what you're doing :)

Yeah I agree with everyone. Just keep good records of everything you do. I have an accordion coupon book for all my receipts as well as a three ring binder for the larger invoices from the Mazda parts counter. Should there ever be a need for proof to my extended service warranty company I'll have everything in order.
