warranty/ engine swap question
 

I just bought this car...on the 7th and already it needs a new engine, and they want to charge me ( if it needs it...im sure they will say yes) new coils, plugs and wires for $695

personally i think that's asinine, I haven't even made my first payment and they want me to pay 700 bucks for this..

who would you guys recommend talking to?? the dealership sales man, or mazda directly?

I understand its regular maintenance for a car to have these things done, ive owned a car or 4 before lol. But seriously, isnt something not right about getting a car from a "reputable" local dealership and having something like this happen?

isn't this something that could have been prevented with a full car inspection before they re-sell the car??

Engine is warrantied for 8 years / 100,000 miles

its an 04 AT
and they are replacing the engine...however they are more than likely going to make me pay the 695 for plugs wires and new coils

what im asking is am i wrong for being a little pissed that they are most likely going to want to charge me for these when I haven't even had the car for a month yet made a payment on it.

shouldn't this have been taken care of before they put the car for sale...if it requires new parts i will buy them on my own and have them replace them...not pay 700 bucks for them when i can get them for half that.

and who should I talk to...mazda directly or the sales guy and explain this to him.

lemon law, take it back

I don't think lemon law counts to a car that's been around for 4+ years and is getting bought used...

The only problem right now is they will not install a new engine unless they know 100% brand new items were installed correctly to prevent another engine failure due to those failing parts. You may end up having to pay for it, or you may be able to work a deal to purchase/install those items yourself for much cheaper.

If you do need wires, plugs, and coils. Do it yourself. You can upgrade your parts for much less than 7 hundo.
