warning lights... uh oh

last night when i was driving home, i was goig down the road at about 60 mph... and i hit the gas pretty hard and pushed it in third gear. When i began to slow down i looked down at the dash and three things were flashing: ABS light, Traction Control, and my E-Brake light were all on. It has happened one other time, and all it seemed weird to me, even a little scary. I turned off the car and started it again, and it all went away.

mmm, it is still under warranty, but has anyone else had anything like this happen?

at least no CEL...

"sounds like a personal problem to me"

this should probably be in the problems section...

check your brake fluid, could be why the ebrake light appeared, happened to me recently and all I did was add a couple fluid ounces to fix the problem.

Have you checked your brake pads lately? Brake fluid doesn't go away, and if it does, *all* of it runs down.

I think you car's telling you it's time to think about brakes.

One Your wheels is LOOSE !!!!! Tighten it now before it flies out !

Im not kidding. Thats what happens when the system detects very unbalance brake force (something is loose)

Happened to me before once, one of my wheel was so loose that actually one of my bolt is *gone*, Tighten it, no more problems.

my brakes are brand new, rotors too. plus my light only appeared during heavy acceleration.

Good advice on the wheels though, i have had loose bolts (def torque them to 108 lb.)

Same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago. I did a search on these forums and numerous people reported the same issue over the past few years, and the consensus seems to be a stuck traction control sensor. It's much more likely to happen when it's cold and there's snow or slush on the roads that is collecting on the tires or underside of the car. For most people, it goes away when the car is turned off and then on again. It coincidentally happened to me when I was on the way to the dealership for an oil change and brake-squeal TSB. The problem never appeared for them, and it hasn't reappeared yet for me either.

Where do you live, and was there snow or slush on the road?

Whiteboi2189 02-22-2007 02:43 PM

i live in texas, but when it happened, it was approximately 50 F outside... the time before that, i dont remember how cold it was, it was around 2 months ago. probably decently cold, but not anything like michigan, lol. i dont know, but i do know something else i have to do now. apparantly the previous owner never had the car brought in for allignment after he put S-tech springs and Cony shocks on the car. so now i also have to go into a shop and get an allignment done, ill probably have the tires spun also, but i need a new set of tires on the front because the inside of the wheels have been worn to the inside barrier of the tire

Romeo 02-22-2007 02:48 PM

you been drifting?

Whiteboi2189 02-22-2007 09:43 PM

not on these set of tires, but yeah, ive been drifting. hehe...

Do you have Aftermarket rims AND/OR differernt tires?

different rims/tires will sometimes trip the radio frequencies in the car and it will light up those 3 warning lights. happends to me all the time, and the only thing i changed were the tires.

it happens to me every single time i get off this clover leaf, same exact one every time.

the car is very high-tech, everything is passed through that damn ecu/pcm the tire sensors, TCS/DSC sensors in the tires. if you dont have stock spec tires, it will occasionally trip.

Whiteboi2189 02-24-2007 01:22 AM

different tires could be a good answer to that...
thanks, i never thought about it
