Warning Buzzer

does anyone know at what rpm the warning buzzer activates on an MT? I would guess about 8150 or so.

I am assuming the 8500 responses are jokes...right.

Obviously i am asking because the tach is considerably innacurate, so i cant just look at it while driving to determine this. So i was just curois if anyone knew what the actual rpm was where it activates. According to the tach, it starts at about 8400 or so, because the leading edge of the needle only needs to reach the 8500 mark, not the center of it for the buzzer to go off. I would guess this is around 8100 to 8200 in reality but not sure.

I'm mildly curious why you can't just drive it and when it goes off, look down and see? Sure, the tach isn't precisely accurate, and up there is off by a few hundred rpm, so subtract a few hundred from what you see, and your pretty darn close.

I used that method, and it worked great for me.

8,500 rpm; but since my MazdaSpeed RX-8 GT exceeds the speed of sound at this rpm range I don't actually hear the beep until 9,000 rpm.

Go out to you car turn in on and rev it slowly up to 9000rpms you should hear it when the needle hits the red/black section of the rpm gage.

You reply trying to return an intelligent answer, but cannot simply google the answer yourself?

google this: what rpm does the rx8 beep

The first 30 results have the answer.

Sounds like you just enjoy typing.

I look forward to your next thread "what color is my car?"

Well considering everything there states the same, obviously incorrect 8500, I figured it would be wise to ask the geniuses here for some more accurate advice. Instead you point me back again towards the same problem that I mentioned in the original post: The f'ing tach is off so obviously i can't just look...hence the creation of thread.

omg nevermind.

Me: "the tach is off, so i was just curious what a particular point of interest is in terms of actual rpm if anyone has accurate data"

replies: "look at the tach" or, even better, "look at internet sources that just tell you what the tach says"

How about this. If you already knew that A: the tach was off, and B: the conventional reply is going to be what the tach shows, then why didn't you ask (or search for) how far off the tach was? It would give the the means to answer your own question without sounding like a complete moron?

As it is....

Or just use a scanning device that reads live info. An AP should work just fine.

Doesn't believe in mods? You mean like...brain mods? Driver mods? You can't be referring to car mods. No, don't believe that.
