Talking Visual model differences?

LOVE my '04 silver A/T RX-8, quite a upgrade from my '79 4 speed RX-7 and much more practical than the black touring 1993 turbo (but it was a real gas to drive!)
Have noticed some RX-8's with a silver triangle under the front and rear bumper that mine does not have. Other than that, I can't tell a 2004 from an 2006.
Anyone know of other visual clues to the modle year?
p.s. The chassis is so stiff and the moment of inertia seems so low, yet the car is super stable when it hits a bump, pothole or water puddle. Anyone know why or where I could find an article on the RX-8's design?

what you see is the rotary accent. They run about 40 for the front, about 70 for the rear. Available for all model years.

There are no visual changes between the model years, but you can tell any yellows are from 2004 since it was only made that one year. white came in at 2005. The newer colors, and shinka packages can also give you hints at how new the car is.

16" rims are only found on the base automatics. The rest get 18" rims...
