Vandilism! A serious problem

Im a nice person in high school. Really try not to start trouble with anyone at all. But, my high school is full of people who listen to gangster rap ... who live in nice 2 story houses mind u/ rape people/ do tons of drugs and are usually very rude to people with no respect. Do you think my car will be vandilised out of pure jelousy. I live in seside height of toms river nj right on the coast. and my high school is quite good but some of the people are trash. thanks for your help.

spellings alittle off today srry

p.s. dont gripe on my age theres tons of other posts for that...

Xyntax 04-23-2004 06:10 PM

From your description, I wouldn't count on it. Get a "safer" car. Something that wouldn't stand out. A car that would not attract the "wrong" attention. Wait til your description of your environment lightens up, then get your RX-8. I won't be surprised if you got your 8 and get in trouble after a week.

Yes, stereotyping those morons apply in this situation. Play it safe, don't get the 8 (yet).

Riccio 04-23-2004 06:22 PM

Agree complete with Xyntax - great advice!

How do the faculty cars do? I would imagine at your school some of the teachers/administrators drive nice cars - any problems there??

oxyg2n 04-23-2004 06:43 PM

well obviously magi will get the car no matter what. well that is what i think. i mean at one point in life any car would get vandalized, even a civic would. just get the car and park it verrrryyyyyyy far away from the crowd and pray no one messes with it. just that people listen to gangster rap (does it still exist?) dont mean they will vandalize your brand new car.

stangmatt66 04-23-2004 07:23 PM

Be very careful with your car! I drove a resto-mod '66 Mustang to high school and it was vandalized 3 times: keyed, plug wires moved on distributer and keyed again. People get jealous VERY easily. Don't brag about your car, park away from the campus and tint your windows so people can't see you rollin' by...Good luck man!

Outlaws eXtreme 04-23-2004 07:24 PM

Anything above a Civic or Accord, and you're in High school still.. get ready for someone to key your car at the very least... no matter what neighborhood you go to.

Btw, just because someone listen to Gangsta rap, doesn't mean they are going to do bad things.

Besides, like Oxyg2n said, you're going to get the car anyhows.. who cares. I'm sure your parents would just pay for any damage on your car if they are already willing to fork over 25k+ for your car. If it was your own money, then I'm pretty sure you'd think otherwise in getting such a car in a school as disruptive as you say.

CB_RX-8 04-23-2004 07:40 PM

If its as bad as you say, then you more then likely will have some kind of incident, my advice would be to have your car , but dont park it anywhere near the school, or find some other way of getting to school, like the way you would be going now, because the potential headaches arent worth looking "cool"

MRX_Rotary 04-23-2004 07:48 PM

Some of the people at my skool are like that. But then again, we have security cameras! Yeah, if I were you I definitely wouldn't take my '8 to skool everyday. Park in another parking lot nearby (like at a store or something) and just walk to skool from there.

rx8miami 04-23-2004 07:58 PM

in h..s never a good idea to drive the nicest ride in school. to many haters and you will get keyed or slashed. try to keep it home or something. that's how it was when I was in h.s. 10 years ago so doubt things have changed. and as for your gangsta rap theory, be thanful the kids in your school aren't listening to rage against the machine!

picosrx8 04-23-2004 08:19 PM

Sure your high school is good? You dont paint a pretty picture. If you want to keep it safe, keep a low profile. If you have enemies...forget it. Unfortunatly keying cars is the first thing angry teens do to each other.

Ike 04-23-2004 08:45 PM

Just from your posts you have an I'm better than you type attitude. I would say your car is screwed, oh well.

magixpuma 04-23-2004 10:05 PM

Sorry i painted a really bad pic my whole highschool is not like that but i was just giving you examples of the worse of the worst
and Sorry if i gave of the vibe as i am better than you i didnt mean too. People in my school still listen to ratm i even like em in doses. Im more of a primus person. And if that u think thats the richest car at the school then ur wrong. my town ranges from old novas and broken down station wagons to the porchia suv and the mercedes so its not like im the only 1 witha nice car and we have some cameras but the school really does cater to thw wrestling team and and what not that really harsh enough on school sports stars. and daddy is just helping me pay it ive been saving since i was little for a nice car i got 15G's to put down.
so yeah im my dads little boy but im not going to college im gonna work with him in his buisness. THANKS FOR YOUR EXPERIENCE WELL APPRECIATED sorry for the spelling.

kbull 04-23-2004 11:02 PM

Well, good luck, man. I can only imagine how I'd feel if my 8 got keyed.

Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that asshole doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.

Get a low deductable on your comprehensive insurance if you are that worried. Or maybe wait a year or two until you are out of HS to get the car. Hard to wait though, I know... Congrats on the discipline to save $15k. That is very impressive. Work on the spelling a bit ;) Good luck working with your dad. You sound like a good kid. Drive safely and responsibly. I had a buddy in HS who got a 240Z and wrecked it within weeks of getting it. Don't let that be you. If you decide to get it, enjoy!

megauo 04-24-2004 01:13 AM

Maybe there are more expensive cars around the school, but your 8'll have ten times the looks -> so the danger !!!

sinkas 04-24-2004 02:15 AM

Why on earth woudl you waste 15K on a deposit on a depreciating car, why not wait until you have a job and have used the growing 15K to get a house loan or something, Otherwise its 15K wasted on a depreciating car, but hey if your a kid, you have time to earn,
Americans seem to put a lot more money into new cars than Australians

Cheers,

Case

Navybeardbb 04-24-2004 02:34 AM

yea but it also builds your credit. Like mine i "co-signed" with my dad so he just transfers money from my account to his and pays my bill for the 8. We got a good apr it was like 3.69% we thought that was pretty hot for an 18 year old.

Outlaws eXtreme 04-24-2004 03:52 AM

ack... anyone else a bit disturbed about magic's post previously? Porcia? huh? I know spelling is one thing, man.. I could swear back in my day, I would had to get a near perfect grade just to get a new Honda Accord. Maybe I shouldn't have tried as hard in school... possibly would have gotten a new RX-7 turbo back then. Spelling is one thing, grammar is another... ack.

magixpuma 04-24-2004 09:51 AM

Yeah, those last posts took place during 3:00 a.m. So the spelling was way off. Heh

HERE you go Porsche. Also I would just be staying in the house I grew up in since my parents want to move; So I am not really so worried on buying a house. Any other questions?
Also I have straight A's so far in english class.

Nubo 04-25-2004 03:19 PM

I wouldn't park any kind of nice car in a high-school lot unless it's an all-girls' school. The male brain isn't fully formed until sometime in the 20's.
