Uh oh.. (Low compression and less than a month till warranty expiration)
My car is taking longer to start up when it is warm(5-6 chirps), I am assuming it is compression loss, either that or the original starter is complete poop since everything else seems fine.
Luckily my 05's warranty expires on March 7, so I will be headed to the dealership tomorrow. I will try to provide more information in the next few days. If there are any suggestions or tips you guys can give me, that would be appreciated! Thanks mates. |
Pray its compression loss. If all goes well, you get a "new" engine for free!

What's the mileage?
The last time plugs, wires and coils were changed? Catalytic? Check engine light on? Air filter and clean Maf? The dealer will likely try a seafoam first. |

Good luck with it. Cross your fingers and hope it is still good, if not, you will get a new engine... ;)
My warranty expires this year too. |
All tests are completed. Turns out the engine's compression is good(According to dealership).
R1 RPM 260 7.6 8.0 7.7 R2 RPM 258 8.0 8.1 8.2 Since I have only had this vehicle for a 1 1/2 months and was told by the dealership that the oil and everything had been replaced when I had gotten it, I didn't really think much of it and assumed everything was okay. I looked at the records properly today and the spark plugs/coils/wires not replaced. The mechanics at the dealership told me that the coils were burnt out or something and that there was minor corrosion on the plugs. He told me the cost to replace it all would be around 700-800, which I guess is reasonable given all that is needed and it's an rx8. I was thinking about ordering in a BHR Kit with the plugs and going from there. |

That sounds a heck of a lot better than $700. BC. |
