Ya true. They could always close there eyes and pretend it's not there. And your right all cars have issues. Just being OCD. 😜

Not disillusioned
I have a disadvantage being a girl, not knowing anything about cars and not having much money. When something goes wrong with my car it worries me. I've been on mazda sights finding how to work on my car myself for small issues. It's all a challenge for me. Go easy on me.

The worst thing on car they didn't recall is the crappy coils.
Stock coils fail at any time and can't be counted on.
Lots of us run the BHR coil upgrade with GMC coils to make sure that failure doesn't kill cat and engine.
That's another $500+.

After seeing the minimal insulation they put on tanks, I think I'll get some of that high temp heat wrap onto the exhaust near the tank.
I don't want them messing with what's not broke on mine.

Every single one of us who knows how to work on cars started off life not knowing what hell we are doing. We've been where you are and learned the same way. Being a girl has little to do with that.

I replaced my fuel pump last year because of that exact issue!
And my front passenger suspension has been making a loud pop when stressed, been doing that since dec. I have been putting that off for "next week" and wow its already june.. heh. But now that it looks like i might get a free replacement....
Question is can i take my car to the dealer now to get a refund/fix or do i have to wait until july 31 for a notice?
My rx8 was made in june 04.

Lady, we're all that way. Any of us with any awareness of what we've gotten ourselves into are somewhere on a spectrum between automotive hypochondria and automotive Munchausen syndrome.

I built a nice concrete house with her, and discovered that she, and some of her Asian people didn't have any spatial concepts which translates into mechanical ability and logic.
Men generally have better spatial concepts, and we get more OCD (over thinking), ADHD, etc. because of it.

I'd say most of that comes from a lack of motivation. My wife is largely the same way. I'd ask for a flat head, she'd come back with a precision torx driver. Then I found out the other week that she somehow changed a timing belt in the first car she owned because she couldn't afford to do it otherwise. That'l have to remain one of those great mysteries, like where the aliens went who built the pyramids.

I am glad this recall is coming out. I recently got my 04 rx8 from my friend's grandmother. It has generally low miles, and was clean from top to bottom when I bought it. The only issue I had was a catalytic that was all broken up internally. Everything looked fine when I put on my racing beat test pipe and hks exhaust( I'm young, I like noise and fire). A couple months later, after spirited driving and an autocross event, I lifted the car again to install some koni yellows with lowering springs. Now I see the gas tank is saturated, and it saturated some of the exhaust and other areas underneath too. I don't drive the car too often, and I drive it even less now because of this. I am very excited to get that fixed so I can drive it like I am used to.
