^Well if you are smart enough to know that many people have Turbo's in their RX8s...Then why aren't you smart enough to search on your own and not post threads that have been posted many times before...Do you think you are the first person to ask if you can turbo an auto? The answer is NO, search and you will find what you want to know.

Why do people ask if an auto rx8 can be turbocharged? If a manual can then an auto can. What is it in these people's minds that get them thinking if they can put a turbo on an automatic engine. I dont get it.

quazmosis 09-11-2008 10:21 AM

Yes you can turbo an AT RX8.

Can I turbo my lawn mower?

CyberPitz 09-11-2008 10:47 AM

Oddly enough, I've seen a turbo'd lawn mower. It was pretty rofl.

Something I'm wondering is why they used a custom supercharger, rather than turbocharger, in that Amoco "Ultimate" RX8. The one with the auto transmission and garish paint job.

lol... the answer is yes; read the major horsepower upgrade section for AT's. Title explains it all my friend :icon_no2:

RX-7 Turbo on a mower... :naughty:

mysql 09-11-2008 03:28 PM

The OP wants torque. He would be happier with a turbo than a SC.

Schimmle 09-11-2008 03:59 PM

Did someone mention pie?

to make a worthwhile post here though, it's never "safe" to FI a car. There's always a risk, and you have to be able to say "I'm OK with paying to replace my engine".

If you cannot make that statement, you cannot go FI. It's a risk, but with proper tuning, the risk can be mitigated for the most part. However your engine might have flaws or issues that show up with the extra power that you might not have seen when NA.

most golf course mowers are little 3 or 4 cylinder turbo diesels.
