this is awesome, one of the Transformers' turns into a Mazda Rx-8! You guys think he'll be in the upcoming movie?

wow, you finally found the transformer rx8. i got the japanese mazdaspeed rx8 ver2 one. metal and everything, like it better than the plastic ones here

the red one is metal too

These have been around for almost three years... BTW, the legs are backwards on the pic the OP got from robotjapan's site.

Takara has four versions of the RX-8 mold, known as Binaltechs. All are die-cast except the police version:

white stock - "Meister" (aka Jazz) gallery
VRM stock - "zoom-zoom" (Jazz's clone, more like an idiot brother) gallery
stratos blue Mazdaspeed - "Laserwave" (aka Shockwave) gallery
police car - "Autorooper" gallery

Hasbro's cheaper plastic releases, known as Alternators, are:

white stock - "Meister" gallery
gallery with racing stripe like the original G1 Jazz
stratos blue mazdaspeed - Shockblast (aka Shockwave) gallery

Was in japan for a month last summer... while going around I came across them in different shops... and couldnt resist the color differences... so I got the MS purple one, and both red and white stock... must say I'm glad I did lol
