The exact same car its just Red? 6sp, touring package, apperance package, spare tire, rotary accents, net and spoiler? Here is the sticker price..... The MSRP was basically $32,000. Your telling me that your friend got the same exact car for $26,000? How can he do that, Now I thought my was hard to believe but thats just crazy! The 6sp starts at $26,680

Congrats on your car. You're right: you're not a troll. Perhaps I am, tho...

Sorry for being so damn grumpy.

Yeah I don't know what that guy is talking about in College Park. I think I have seen his friend before but I really don't believe he got the same car as me for $26,000. Thats just unbelievable, I really don't think any Dealership would do that unless he bought it with like 30,000 miles on it or something.

26K seems a little low... I know the dealers have been selling at invoice but with all of the options it doesn't really sound true.

cas2themoe,
Congrats on your new ride. Just had some spare time at hand so:

YOUR Dealer's pricing for 2004 Mazda RX8 6MT, Touring package, Rotory Accent package, Appearance package, Spare Tire, Net, Spoiler
========================================
MSRP = 31,899
Price paid = 29,000
Taxes = ?
Out the door (New) = ?

EDMUNDS PRICING
===============
MSRP = 31,379
INVOICE = 28,591

PREVIOUS RX8 AUTO
==================
MSRP = 27,899
Taxes = ?
Out-the-door (Old) = ?
Trade-In value = 24,500
Loss = Out the door - Trade in

Seems like you paid approx $500 over Edmund's invoice price and thats good. On the preivous car one should consider out the door price minus the trade in value to figure total amount paid for the auto RX8 keeping it for 6 months I think you got a good deal.

Someone willing to do the math for me? I've got the GT AT with about 6k miles on it, with the NAV. No appearance package. What would I expect if I wanted to get a new manual GT or T package... with the NAV?

Yeah I think it was a pretty good deal and I'm glad that I did it. Plus I got a lower APR this time so it worked out for me on that front too. You Manual owners were right, there is alot more power and it alot more fun to drive. I'm loving it right now and will never get a auto sports car again. Manual all the way!!!

AT with the GT package
-rear spoiler added 300$
-cargo net
-6disc cd
5,500 miles on it, bought it mid march (about 4 months old)
paid 35,000 (after tax, tag, extend warr)

Do The math guys. He got a good deal on the MT to minimize the damage, but all in all, he lost some serious LOOT. He overpaid for his first rx8 to begin with, then lost a good chunk on the trade in. Trust me, the dealer made out on this deal, and you got what you wanted, without taking it too badly in the ***. He did not hand them his car and $1500 and walk away with his new and improved rx8. He took a nice hit, but lets not reign in on his parade and do the math for him because it might ruin the moment. Congrats man, and enjoy your brand new ride.
