Be prepared for total strangers to check your car out and ask questions everywhere you go. Is that a Viper? How much $60,000? Is that a V6? How fast will it go?
Babes will stare, car lovers will give you the thumbs up, and neighborhood kids will point, jump & shout.

You just don't get much of that in a mustang no matter how nice it is...I almost signed the dotted line on a 03 Mach I. Glad I got da 8 instead. You're not crazy, it's just 8-Fever and we've all got it bad.

 

Didn't get into the Contour thing too much. It was actually my wife's car. We had a Mustang GT and the SVT Contour, but she had to shuttle the kids, so she got the Contour(4-door) most of the time. I drove it on the weekends and stuff like that.

Funny thing was, I actually painted the SVT Contour I bought. I was a painter at the Kansas City Assembly Plant when we were building Contours here.

 

Yeah, I've been getting a lot of "strange" attention. It's Whitewater/Snowflake Pearl. I can't believe all the metal flake in the paint and how much of a pearlescence it has. I also got the windows tinted on Monday (first mod I guess). Seen people slow down when coming up to pass me and then pace and look at it on the highway. Seen people weaving through traffic to pull up and look. I had my mother-in-law on the phone Monday and she said "Why would you trade your Mustang in on a MAZDA?" Well, she came by tonight and said "Oh, now I see why. I like that more than the Mustang too."

 

Not nuts.

I looked at the '04 'stang before test driving the 8. When I test drove it the gas gauge was sitting on the empty line. Salesman said just take it around the block. Didn't get it over 30mph, he didn't get a sale.

Funny though I had a kid at Taco Bell lean out the window and say, "Damn is that the new Mustang!"

I had to supress my laughter till he gave me the food I ordered.
