ok i ahve asked this question before but once again it has risen. My flippin tire pressue like won't go away! I have filled all the tires to the right temp, I have re-set the TPM's "by the Book" and it won't go away. and yes the tpm's are in the tires and the little tire cap are on the tires.

Have you asked your friendly Mazda dealer? Car have warranty?

warrenty expired so i don't want to have to pay $100 to have someone look at it

Please pay someone 100 bucks to look at it

and leave us alone.

Hmmmm, I know that they can fail. Just that the trick is going to be figuring out which one.
I think there is some on the "forsale page" For a reasonable price.
Or there is a fix for the TPMS light if you want to go that route. Just hit the search button.

If it's solid, there is something wrong with the tire/pressure staying in it. It's it's blinking it's malfunctioning. If you want to figure out which one and replace it yourself, what you need to do is, one at a time, let the air out of the tires to below 27 psi. This will cause a beep and make the light go solid. After you do that with one tire, reinflate it back up to normal again. Repeat this on the other tires until you find the one that doesn't register that the pressure is too low. That is the malfunctioning sensor. To replace it you have to take the wheel off, unmount the tire, replace the valve stem sensor thingy, remount the tire, reinflate it with air. Then the irritating part. You have to let it sit for 15 minutes away from all other vehicles that may have TPMS sensors in them. Then you need to take and drive it around for 15 minutes so the computer can reprogram itself with the new sensor. Then you need to let it sit for another 15 minutes (car off) away from vehicles with other sensors again. After this, it's all done. :)

I had to have this done with my car a couple months ago. When we had some pretty cold temperatures awhile back I found my car in the mornign with icicles hanging off my car and a thick layer of ice coating the car. Well, after I thawed it out and started driving it, I developed the blinking TPMS light. Basically, moisture got in around the TPMS sensor and it froze. Apparently it cracked something, and when it thawed out it no longer worked. I got it replaced under warranty.

Bella is doing great. Mileage back up to 20 now, even with our crap oxygenated winter gas and below freezing temperatures (totally odd for Oregon). Clutch is better now. Apparently I had that ethanol evaporation problem which "froze" it up. After awhile it just kept getting better and better and is now basically normal again. I had to talk to a completely different service advisor to get the answer. Apparently, they work "un-freeze" with time. :dunno:

Bella's been stuck in the driveway for the last two days due to snow and ice (I still have five inches at my house, as well as a nice layer of ice). I don't think I can even back her out it's that bad. So, my mom's been taking me to and from work. I just discovered how much I hate being a passenger now. :mad:

ok that didn't work im jsut go blow a bill on the dealership and have them fix it thanks anyways for the help.

Have you gotten tires recently? Could have damaged the sensor.

isn't there a DIY to just cut the TPMS wire and be done with it :)

Do you have a spare tire? Does the spare have tpms?

I don't think the spare has TPMS.

It is possible - if you took your car through a car wash (automatic type), that the rails could damage the valve stem. Neighbor's RX-8 sat parked outside with a flat tire for about 6 months. I think he had a bad stem.

One other possibility, but I haven't found it in the tech manual. My Harrison CanScan RX-8 software seems to indicate that the TMS modules in the wheels have a battery because you can monitor the condition of each battery (as well as the actual tire pressures, etc.). Perhaps it is a battery issue.

Metal valve stem caps can damage the sensors also.

You have to go to your Mazda dealer.. Read the manual, it says it. And pay the fee if your warranty is out.

do you have a way to get a screen shot of that... it was mentioned before, very curious?
