'Top Gear' tonite: RX8 vs TT vs Alfa

Don't know if anybody's seen this one, but on tonight's 'Top Gear' (BBC America, 11pm ET) there's a fun three-way shoot out.

77mjd 10-15-2007 07:48 PM

Just saw it...interesting. Seeing stuff like that keeps reminding me why I bought an 8.

Shini 10-15-2007 07:50 PM

Old episode! :P

I saw it months ago, it filled me with some more pride in the car that the Top Gear guys actually picked it for something :)

Too bad it doesn't really win though :(

Best looking car out of the three of them for sure...I mean, that is unless you drive an E55, then it's not even a competition

I agree with their art "experts"—the Alfa is the best looking to me. (I like the way the 8 looks 'cause it's cool, interesting and different, but in terms of pure design, it's kind of a mishmash.)

What I like is that, even though the episode's a year old, with all the coupes out there, they still chose an RX-8 to compete with the two newer cars. That's a nice compliment to the 8.

I can't believe those guys picked the alpha as the best looking or most "artsy" of the three. That thing is just plain ugly.

I was also surprised the Audi was fastest around the track, by .6 seconds. When watching the track laps, the 8 looked like it was way faster than the other two. Guess thats part of the cars great design that makes it "look" faster than it actually is.

Their taste in beautiful cars is about on par with their taste in mens haircuts :icon_no2: yea..that bad.

That's what I liked about it too that they still picked the 8 over so many other cars they could have gotten their hands on.

When they first took the 8 around the track I also liked how the only negative thing that he could say about it was the tires. Which is an easy fix and once you do it makes the car 5 out of 5 stars honestly!

Meh, hammonds haircut last season was pretty good, the other two though are doomed to fail for life. This season his hair is just longer, still pretty nice though?

Ugh that sounded straighter in my head :icon_no2:

The RX-8 is like a hot stripper with a ton of makeup. Looks good, but a little over the top... The Brera on the other hand is a classic elegant beauty. It's like comparing Adriana Lima to Pam Anderson.

I think the RX-8 is somewhat understated for a sports car actually. 350z and Mustang look much more aggressive.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch it. Anybody recorded it? Is there a video of it somewhere on the vast Internet?

In Top gear there are episodes where they race an MX5 with a Dog? Evo with a roller skater ?Veyron Vs Private Jet ! Too much Drama....oh and by the way Toyota Hilux with a bunch of dogs in arctic! I am making a judgement call on them.... LAME!
Even in this video each person was supposed to defend why his car looked better??

that's because it's not just a car show, instead it's a show about fun with cars...and just a lot of doing things just because they feel like it. XD

Shini 10-16-2007 04:24 PM

Even with all the outrageous things they do, it's still fun to watch and an overall informative show

Top Gear is currently UK's most watched teleshow. Can't say that about Motorweek. LOL!!!

Yeah.. right! Try telling that to guys who made the MX-5. They would beg to differ from you. You know why? Bcos MX-5 lost to a dog! LOL

I'm sorry, when did they say it was a bad car because a dog beat it around a sand track? I missed that part.
