Time for a rebuild?
 

I have a 2004 on the original engine. I got a compression check and these are the results. I'm not really sure what I am looking at so I was wondering what you all think. Is it time for a rebuild?

How does it run?

To me it runs strong. Although, I didn't get it when it was brand new. I've never drove a new, healthy engine.

Worn engines usually don't decrease performance abruptly, so it would be difficult to diagnose compression lost just by regular driving.

Were those compression numbers done on a cold or warm engine? Old or new starter?

It pulls hard and idles good. Although, sometimes it does take longer for it to start up. Sometimes it'll be cold and take longer and sometimes it'll be hot. Completely random. It has never not started and really doesn't take that much longer to start.

I assume it was cold, I wasn't there when the dealership performed it. The starter is the upgraded starter. Not the one it originally came with.

For the best compression test results you want the engine to be hot, so they should either let it warm up enough or do the test near the time you get there. You could try calling adn asking them but they will probably have no idea.

It's been about 3 months ago and I just now decided to post about it. Should I get another test preformed? There is no way for me to know if it was warm or cold.

If its running fine without hesitation, then you should be okay for now.

The compression is low. If the engine was cold when they performed the test then it will be even lower when the unit warms up.

You also have 1 chamber that's definitely lower than the other 2 in each rotor.
There are 2 things you can do: Drive it 'till it starts giving you headaches or replace\rebuild the engine now.

Depending on your location having the engine rebuilt\replaced may be as easy as forking out the money and waiting just some time. Unfortunately good rebuilders aren't scattered evenly across the globe though.

Would you all recommend I rebuild it now to make it cheaper on me or will that matter.
