Ticket or no ticket?
 

I almost got pulled over on wednesday night may 28 going a little fast driving next to mitsubishi eclipse. I saw the cop about 300 to 500 feet slammed on the brakes I guess so did the eclipse on the left lane.

Anyways the cop pulls out from where he was hiding comes behind me for about 3seconds than heads to the eclipse and turns on the lights etc. The other guy got pulled over I did not hear him say to me pull over so i resume speed and kept going.

What do you guys think I'll receive a ticket over mail or just got lucky. I called today monday june 2. Please i appreciate input???

Your fine if he wanted to pull you over then he would of. He would of turned on his lights or he would of pulled up beside you and told you to pull over well thats what the cop did when he pulled me and another car over. Luckly i knew the officer so i didnt get a ticket.

Any summons by the cop would have been on file by monday if it happened wednesday night right???? I hope nothing is there I will call the violation berau on friday 1 last time than i could relax my mind after that...

I've had cops do this to me a lot. They stay behind you to check your past record on any past tickets and such. I'm guessing you did OK. They usually do this to me when I'm flying through the highway and suddenly just slow down. ;)

Cops here are ass holes. I was going 75 km/h in a 70 zone just cruising with the flow of traffic, another guy ahead of me was going FASTER, I had never had a ticket before. I see some headlights behind me, getting closer, closer.. The guy ahead of me was going plenty faster, so I just sped up abit.. was going about 85 km/h and the bastage turned his lights on pulled me over. The guy ahead of me pulled over too (was probably going about 95), but no.. He didn't get a ticket, only me! Such a dick head!

Chances are he clocked the eclipse and not you. I am assuming he was on the opposite side of the road 4Ln hwy? No ticket for you, close one. I would get a radar detector. Mine has saved me enough times to pay itself off over and over again.

A lot of these guys in NJ use lidar or some other form of speed measurement that the radar detector can't help with.... When you see the random white lines on the road by overpasses and on/off ramps, you gotta be mindful.

And in NJ, any cop can have radar, so the detector is really useful. (in PA, for example, only the staties have radar)

Dunno man, I just behave in NJ, not worth pissing them off.

I have a radar detector but it didn't pick up anything, it's just the other guy kept pulling close to me every other second. I don't like to speed but once i like to rev my rx8.

RyanX-8--> I was in the middle lane the other guy was in the left lane.... The cop was hidding on the shoulder all the way to the right...

your pretty lucky i'd say. just be careful. things like that have happened to me like that as well.

Thats why they say pass left, speed right... the cop is mch more likely to grab someone from the left lane as they are closer to him, and he gets a better shot with whatever his speed monitoring device is...
