Thinking about buying an RX8

I found a grey 2004 6 speed for what seems like a good price (8k?).

Just seeing what y'all could tell me about it. The car has 90k... But I've heard the renesis gets better with age, is this true?

What else should I look for? Should i be wary buying one with mileage this high?

Wow I feel dumb... But still there isn't too much info on longetivity there.

As long as it's kept up with buying one with a hundred k isn't bad?

Also, the thread mentioned carbon buildup.. I'm assuming it's not as easy to clean as seafoaming a piston motor is?

I'd keep looking and find one with lower miles. That's just me.

Yeah i agree with Roidz.. Keep lookin.

There could be a lot of carbon build up, or there might not be. A compression test is a must on an Rx8. A local dealer will charge anywhere from $100-250 to perform it. And mazda has 'zoom zoom cleaner' which is just seafoam. But if it already has a lot of buildup and low compression, i would definitely stay away from it unless you can get a new engine under warranty (if it still is under warranty).

Just my $0.02

Keep searching and you'll find a better one with a lower mileage and a better price, good luck.
