The Things People Do (Rant)

Someone decided to give my car and I an early Christmas present.

I was riding with a friend yesterday and we were driving out of a parking lot on our way to jump another friend's car that was dead. Well my car is parked in the same lot and as we drive by it, it is covered in what seems to be spray paint. I calmly tell my friend to keep driving and I would check on it when we got back (he didn't know how to jump a car and neither did the girls of the dead car).

After we get done jumping the car we return and I walk over to my car. Apprehensive, I slide my fingers through it to see if it comes off - and it does. It's was actually just the fake snow stuff you can buy in a spray can. But whoever did it sprayed it on my windows, my taillights, and all over the body of my car. I got the main part of it off with water and a towel, but it's still extremely dirty. I had just waxed it a week before this, too. :wallbash:

I thought my car would be safe since it's parked in a lot right outside of my dorm (although it was in the last row closest to the road). Now it's parked right outside my window where I can keep an eye on it. I'm heading home for the holidays on this coming Thursday and plan to wash it right when I get back - hopefully all the residue comes off and there is no lasting damage.

Sorry for the rant. Just pisses me off how people can be so disrespectful.

Sorry to hear that. Good grief, I bet it was a bunch of teenagers doing the same to other cars around. Plus the irony of life: you were trying to help somebody and then somebody bad ended up happening to you.

I hope you have no real damage to the car.

Best advice...............get it all off as soon as possible. I wouldn't wait till I got home or back or whatever. Letting any of it set is just a bad idea.

The problem is, I don't know how long it was sitting there with the fake snow on it. Could have just been a day, could have been the better part of a week. Regardless all of the major stuff came off and didn't leave anything behind. It's mostly just residue now, although I agree I should not wait to get it off. I have no way of hand washing it here at school, so maybe I can find some half-automated one.

There no water and a bucket available at your school? Just kidding. :)

Do what you can, you'll be happy you did. I assume finals are over and you don't leave till Thursday.

Haha well there's no way to properly hand wash my car here at school.

I still have two exams left, one being tomorrow so most of my time is spent studying. My car does come first in this situation though so I'm searching for places now.

Only happened to your car or anyone else? Kids these days...no respect with other people's property and such. Be glad its not real spray paint and its not scratched like other serious vandalism on cars.

Dude. The wax might have saved your paint from being damaged. That was a blessing.

sjschutz 12-11-2011 03:10 PM

I didn't see any other car in the lot in the same condition as mine, of course they could have washed theirs by the time I found out about mine. I'm bringing it to a nice wash shop and having it done tomorrow. Then I'll probably do my own hand-wash routine when I get home on Thursday.

Dude, I thought you were gonna say it was real paint or, even worse, dented. If it were me, I'd be so relieved that it was just fake snow.

Trust me when I wiped my fingers through it and it came off I was actually happy. Then I went back to being pissed because it was a mess.

^........thankful yet pissed. I can understand that.
And like was said.....be happy you had just waxed it, that probably helped more than you think.

Are you sure it was fake snow? Yours was the only car with this stuff... and these things are so damn nice looking it could have been some guy admiring it a little TOO much. :scared:

Ok, now that was gross.

I'm just glad to hear it wasn't spray paint. But still sucks.
