Things I love/hate about my rx8
Since theres been a lot of threads about it why not just have one with a couple things you love/hate.
Love: The looks, the handling and the sound. Cant beat it. Hate: The gas mileage. The oil changes. The cost of repair. Lets try it out haha |
Love: The Power, The Looks and The Handling. Plus every time you redline it it makes your heart race:)
Hate: Where the park plugs are, coil life and water in my tail light. On the side: Repair cost are nothing compared to my BMW's haha |
Love - just love every minute of it.
Hate - no hate on this one. Just a fun car to drive. |
Love: looks and handling and when you hit red line it doesn't seem like its gonna blow up like a piston engine does.
Hate: that I have an 04 and the dreaded compression test coming soon. |
Love - "so its a four cylinder?" "nope, it doesn't have cylinders." "wtf?!"
Hate - how the trunk is rather deceiving. it looks plenty big but the opening is do damn small. 13,000 miles later its still a love/hate relationship. |
LOL for those of you putting "power" as a "love" of the car, you should test drive an accord or a maxima, you'd think you were driving a fucking drag car.
|
Accord as a drag car hahaha. I have a M5 with 550 horsepower I think I can "love" the smooth power of a rotary. Instead of a lumpy piston engine
|
oooh the trunk opening size is a good one.
love: handling, looks hate: gas mileage, how difficult it is to program a new key fob :( |
Love: looks, feel of the car, 9k rev limit
hate: the feeling that some day something might go wrong :< side note: I don't mind the MPG too much, i realized that this car was going to drink oil/gas when i bought it thus i have a DD for work commute and the rx8 is a weekend/joy ride car |
Loves: Looks, Handling (I still remember during the test drive, my father was sitting in the passanger seat and he got all nervous in one turn because he forgot that we weren't in a truck), Owning the car that I dreamed of owning when I was 16 years old :)
Hates: None really, I don't love the milage, but I really can't complain, I knew what I was in for haha. Also, having bad dreams about bad things happening to my 8 isn't very fun, but I'm sure that happens with any car that you really love. |
Love: looks, road feel, predictability, the seats!
Hate: the driver's door is out to get me, it has owned me in the back and ribs a few times when I didn't open it fully. |
Love: 9k revs, awesome interior, overall appearance, the fact no one understands I don't have pistons, the fact no one understands how it uses oil, and the fact I have always dreamt of having this car since i was like 15, got a awesome job, and can afford my own when I turned 19, and everyone thinks its a super expensive car :) :)
Hate: Water in the tail lights, low clearance, and how everyone says it sounds like a shop vac... :/ I love my 8!!! |
Love: The interior! All red and black; stealthy as shit... The jet engine sound/feel. Just driving it really.
Hate: Being in this car and stuck in traffic. Having to warm up the car all the time, but I can live with it. |
Love: The growl of the exhaust when I start it up. It makes me smile and want to drive. The crisp turn in and how planted the car always feels.
Hate: Cheap mazda plastic |
Like: uniqueness, nimbleness, handling, engine sound, performance of engine (over 6000 rpm), driving position, intimate cockpit, shifter, gauges, small size, practicality
Dislike: car feels tinny and insubstantial, brake feel, highway range, iPod integration, dealer service |
Every thing.
Dislikes: cry babies on the forum. :crying: |
Love: looks, handling, unique engine, seats, dashboard, shifter, floor mats, rear view mirror, headlights, trunk (it fits my hockey equipment!), the sound, the rev limit, even the scratches on the back of my passenger seat
Disappointed: power Hate: The dipstick |
Love: Handling, 50/50 weight, face of person in passenger when the Navi opens up, the necks I break, sound, exterior design
Hate: worrying that something might go wrong and people saying I told you so :-/ cheap gas cap |
Love : Countless compliments "Nice car buddy!" and she's a stock 8...
Hate : when I parked on the far side(beside the gutter) and people parked closer to her..stepping the line... |

i love almost everything except the stering wheel adjustabilty ..
|
I love - looks, and 9K rpm, and great Handling.
Hate - Oil and the crappy coils and spark plugs |
My only complaint is you cant turn it on and go. Have to consiously drive it slow until it warms up and keep it under like 2500rpms

Also, having bad dreams about bad things happening to my 8 isn't very fun, but I'm sure that happens with any car that you really love. The first one was that someone stole it and wrecked it. Love: I love the look, I love the feel, I love the handling, I love that the car is "interactive" requiring me to pay attention and really enjoy it. :smoker: Hate: That I have all the horror stories in my head so I am paranoid about shit going wrong. Despite the fact that you own any car long enough it will acquire damn near an entire rebuild in parts and labor. :dunno: |
Lol I have bad dreams about stuff happening to my car every now and then too, usually people stealing it.
