Hahaha Hey man, don't go anywhere just because you got the Sky... need folks like you around here. The way I see, ex-RX8 owners are objective voices in the sea of "that cars SUCKS" threads on RX8club.

I'm happy you choose the style of the SKY over the Solstice. I see both around my parts all the time. The RX-8 on the other hand is a rarity.

There are actually quite rare here in Greensboro. It's kinda crazy. Drove by the Saturn lot yesterday... they still have a bunch chillin' outside.

Fine by me.

And Kane, surprisingly... they handle very similiar. Their curb weight is VERY close and they came stock with the same size rubber than the Kuhmo's I put on my RX-8. The wheels are heavy though... 26lbs! I'm considering Silver U-leggeras next year.

You should take one for a spin.... I'm NOT saying trade in your Turbo 8!!! Just check it out. There are similarities.

It was my first choice - but Saturn wouldn't play nice with my deployed soldier-ness. So I said screw 'em; and then Kimi found the 8. But I have always been curious if I woulda liked it.

I must share this: I took my sky on a road trip yesterday. I droves little aggressively at times and I've driven 215 miles on this tank and still have half a tank to go! With 260 hp too! W00t!

Yeah, too bad that 'tank' takes up the whole trunk.

RojoOcho, do you track? I'd love to get someone's opinion on the Sky/Solstice as a track car and a true comparison from someone like you that appreciates both. After watching Speed's series Set-up with the Solstice, I have a curious eye on them.

It does take up a great deal. That's true. You are indeed correct.

But that's why I got the civic.

I'm crossing mine next month. However I have seen them and talked to people that own them out there and they perform really well.

If you have a curious eye, you should go check them out. They are still interest free until Monday... That includes the GXP...

Saw a silver Sky today. I prefer it over the Solstice. But both are the few better products from GM. They have not interest me to the point of test driving them. However from what I've read the MX-5 despite having less hp, is the better driver's car. Something about more cohesive driving experience etc....

It's funny you say that because there are Professional Japanese Drivers that prefer the Kappa over the MX-5. They are both great cars though.

Anyway, I came to post a small gripe. I do wish the brakes had a better feel to them. I think I was spoiled by the RX-8. Just being real.

I have enjoyed reading about your new car, but isn't it time to find a Sky site to visit?

test drove one of these

I test drove one of these before I ended up buying my Mazda RX-8.

The only version they had in Kona was auto as the the manual models they were over at the Hilo dealership.

I thought the 260 hp was a bit optimistic. The interior fit and finish wasn't up to japanese standards.

My past history with Mazda probably was a factor.

I agree. Especially since I started this thread with no negative connotations or slander about the 8.

People kept responding to the thread so I responded back!

Tell you what... Mods close the thread. If anyone has anymore questions, PM me.
