Texas License Plates

Hi. Can anyone tell me if its legal in Texas to not put the front license plate on the 8? Or if you have to then anyone got options to make it look good.

No, its not legal. Check out the Gulf forum, and sign the petition to remove it.

Its illegal to not have an front license plate in TX. Why don't you just rebel?

I no its a law , but I have not had one on my cars since 1991. No tockets yet knock on wood.

Don't take this as bragging, because it definitely isn't, but I have been pulled over so many times by cops that it's almost a routine for me.

Anyway, I have only been told once that I needed to put the front license plate on my car. And that was only because the guy noticed that I had an expired rear tag, no safety inspection sticker, and an expired county sticker.

Northern VA has so many different types of cops in such a small area that you see them running around all over the place all the time. You can almost smell the unmarked cars out.

It's just not an issue to most cops. They don't seem to be concerned at all about it and you can sit right across from them at an intersection and they will pass right on by.

So screw it. Ditch the tag and make your 8 look as cool as it's supposed to.

Yeah I will probably go the rebel route. A buddy of mine as a Firebird and he just suction cupped his front plate to the windshield. No tickets yet. The car just looks so dang cool without it.

TX law is mandatory that you run a front plate.

I have been in in the Fort Worth area since 99. In the past month I have gotten pulled over twice for no front plate and never once before that. But, I have MI plates so they can't do anything to me. :) I like the look on their faces when they ask me how long I have lived here and I tell them since 99.

Don't put it on. See how long you can go before they stop you for it. If it becomes a repetitive issue, then just put it on.
