Sun Visor Shade (for the holes)

I just wanted to share with you guys a project that I worked on a little bit earlier this week.

I've had too many passengers that complained about the "holes" in the sun visor that just let the sun shine through so I finally decided that I would do something about it!

I bought some shaded acrylic and cut it out and stuck it on! I just bought some 3M double sided foam tape and it seems to work fine

I do have some extra so PM me if you are interested! I also attached the drawings with the dimensions in case you want to make your own! (units are in mm)

Interestingly enough the two sides were very similar but not symmetric so looking at this drawing from the driver's side, the one on the left is the 'outboard' one and the one on the right is the 'inboard' one, and is basically just flipped for the passenger side.

Tried my best to take a constant exposure picture

I've been wanting to do this for a little while now and you just made it easier for me. I drew this up in autocad and plotted it for a pattern. Either my plotter is off by a mm or the dimensions were off but it was good enough to make a pattern and cut the window tint i had laying around.

Thanks

That's pretty nifty. I did something very similar years ago with mine. I used sticky-backed black felt and made one for each side, front and back too. Looks factory.

That's really slick, thanks for sharing.

I like it!! Not sure why Mazda even made perforated sun visors in the first place. What did you use to cut the acrylic?

I think you're solving a problem that doesn't exist. I've never had a situation where simply adjusting the angle doesn't make the holes solid. And late in the day, when the sun is right in your eyes, the fact that you can block it with the center portion of the visor and yet, courtesy the holes, still see a red light, is brilliant.

Still, if it bothers you, this is a clever solution.
