Storing the 8 for the winter.

Whats the best way to store the 8 for the winter? Just throw in a garage and put a cover on it? I have a slow leak in one of the wheels so I was thinking put it on jacks and take them off. I know I would have to start her up every week just to keep the seals wet. Basically whats the best thing to do before, while, and bringing it out of storage?

Garage, wax it, fill the tank, put a fabric softener sheet in the cabin (keeps critters out), put little squares of carpet under all 4 wheels (prevent flat spots), put rags in the tailpipes to keep mice and crap out of them, disconnect the battery and put it in your carpeted closet, cover it.

trickle charger on the battery if you've got it.

last year (when i lived in PA) I just changed the oil, cleaned/waxed, car cover, rags in tailpipe and parked on ply wood (was parked in a dirt floor garage) and I started it about once a month just to keep the battery charged up and burn some fuel(oh and to get a little joy while it's snowing outside haha)

Walmart sells a product the same as the battery tender but for much much less. It will keep your battery charged and will not over charge it. Fill the gas tank and had some Stabil to the gas tank and run the car for a few minutes. After the winter check the tire pressures, change the oil and filter and enjoy. I would also buy some BG44K fuel system cleaner and put that in before you bring the car back out. Just to clean the fuel system and clean up some carbon

It's about that time for me as well. i usualy just change the oil and filter. Detail the exterior and interior and over inflate the tires. Use a trickle charger for the battery and i try to start it once a week. If theres not much snow outside, i'll take it for a spin for a few blocks. That's why i dont like putting it up on a jack. I also reduce my coverage from full to liability from november to april since i wont be driving the car during those 6 months.

Question: Why do we fill the gas tank full over winter? What does that do? What's wrong with half a tank?

It helps to keep the gas from separating and forming varnish that will clog the fuel system.

definitely add stabilizer to it as well to help get rid of the water. rust in the gas tank ftl...

Does it matter which stabilizer to get?
