Still under warranty? Worried about mods voiding it?

This place is bad. I was content with my new stock 09 8 until i got enticed with the mods everyone had. First it was just cosmetic stuff like led lights, then wheels, now lowering springs. But then I read somewhere about aftermarket springs voiding the new car warranty. So I don't know what to do now. I know some will say replace the aftermarket stuff with stock if something goes wrong, but for me, springs aren't easily installed.

Any thoughts and opinions from people still (or was) under warranty when they modded their cars?

ive never had any problems with the dealership telling me the car was too low

This place IS bad.

But I love it. I also love what its done to my car... Gya-h-ha-ha-ha!

Warranty sucks ass anyways.

lowering springs will not void your warranty. It might void your suspension warranty since lowering springs are stiffer and thus your OEM struts will not last as long. When they go out, the dealership will be off the hook for them.

as for the rest of your car, the warranty should remain intact.
Dealerships aren't too quick to void warranties but it all comes down to the individual dealersihp and the level of mods on your car. My car has springs, strusts, sway bars, endlinks, exhaust, intake, high flow cat, radiator, water pump, stereo, etc etc and they never threatened to void my warranty :D:

Ever dealer is different.

jedi and razz got you covered! depends on the dealer. but essentially anything you do could void that part of the warranty. like jedi said, with stiffer and lower springs, if your struts go out or something, they could say your stiffer springs caused it to happen prematurely, but for instance they cannot say the stiffer springs caused your power steering module to fail or your cat to fry.

You gotta Pay to Play. :yesnod: An as long as you dont do any mods to your engine, I wouldnt worry about it... BOLT ON stuff can be BOLTED OFF.... even Turbo Kits. :yesnod:

If you are worried about it, have Mazdaspeed springs installed at the dealership. But it will cost you...

Mine is salvage so I think that rules me out of keeping the warranties anyway, am I right?
