Startup display

After installing my MP3 player tonight, I noticed that the center display now says "mazda RX-8" whan it first fires up. I'm sure it used to be correctly capitalized: "Mazda RX-8". Can someone with the regular single or 6-disk drive confirm what your display says?

If it has indeed changed, it would imply that this text is read from the firmware of the CD drive!

They all say mazda rx-8 when you turn the key, it's not capitalized.

correction: the m in mazda is not capitalized, but the RX-8 is... it goes back to the old days in the previous mazda logos, the M was never capitalized.

As eccles said, it matches the old logo. And if you look at the back of the car, it actually has an old-style "mazda" on the left side of the trunk hatch.

That Display is definitely adjustable. I've seen people customizing it already. I believe in Canada, they are set to display "BOSE system" or something like that.

Considering the fact that the display is controlled by the stereo system, I would think that that's another canned display, and not something that someone customized.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear about the Display before.

What I meant to say is that I have already seen People setting all kinds of thing in the Text display so FOR SURE it is adjustable. Just have to ask somebody who knows.

On another note, it seems that the default display in US cars is "mazda RX-8" right ??? I believe here in Canada, the default setting is something like "BOSE system".

That's what I meant to say in the first post :)
