Starting issue?
alright few days ago when i started my car it was fine, but somehow after i start the car the rpm is idling at 2500 ? but after driving the car idles back to 1000... does anyone know why its doing that?

I believe that's perfectly normal to operate idle at higher RPMS until warm, then it should drop to around 850ish.
|
It will idle high when the engine is dead cold, then settle down as it warms up. Sounds normal to me.
|
does this typically happen in the morning or after the car has been sitting for a long time?
If so, it's pretty normal. Our car idles much higher then normal when it's cold and after a little while the idle will drop down to it's normal range. edit: holy crap you guys are fast... |
it happens after school most of time after siting in the sun for hours..but not in the morning
wow you guys all replied 3 min after my post!lol |
buncha forum whores
sounds normal to me |
okay good,
thanks |
Im pretty sure that when you start a car, it idles high, and after a few minutes (warming up), it goes down to 1k or so .. thats just me

this is the same for every single fuel injected car.. nothing new.. wtf.
|
They have been doing this for many years *The RX-7's of the 80's did the same thing!*. It's there to help warm up the car.
