starting car without turning the key
a friend of mine start his car without turning his key,manual....
all he does is let his car start rolling and his car would start automaticlly, but when I try it it won't work, might sound like a stupid topic, but I'm just wondering how he does it, anyone know?? |

|
I heard that you can get more than 100mpg actually

do you turn your key to ignition?
|
Well, if that doesn't work, I guess that's why somebody invented the starter.

Off topic, but I see you guys are online. How does the RX8 come with that advanced smart start system on a manuel?
|
I think there a sensor in the car interior that senses the key in play......and you turn the this black plastic knob on the ignition and it starts...as long as your foot is fully depressed on the clutch.
I was amazed by this too when i first test drove an GT pkg RX8. |
I forgot to add, that the car has a sensor that senses the keycard (has to be in your pocket, within proximities of the sensor, can't be in the trunk, car wont start if keycard in the trunk) on the Mazda advanced start system.

if its an older car it sounds like he's just pop starting it. I used to have a little 50cc putt putt bike and sometimes it would crap out and I would just pop start it, put it in first gear and just push it along till it would start.

It is not a very good idea to start your car that way, it can damage things. My FC had a dead battery so I rolled it down a hill and clutch started it, it ended up screwing up a 50 dollar solenoid and some wiring, it can also mess your ECU up if you are really unlucky.
