Start button envy over

I used to want this so bad...but then after all these "OMFG I CANT STOP MY CAR I MA DIE" scenario...maybe its better for me to have a normal turn key start? :P Anyone got problem with their start button conversion tho? I still love it and may change it one day. I do know its a PITA for my car since I got the smart key setup... http://www.autoblog.com/2010/02/12/r...ing-redesigni/ |
I kinda like key better even tho the keyless start in my eight is pretty simular to a button.
|
Well you still need to "turn" the key even tho you dont put any key in the hole...at least you know how to shut it down tho lolz

When my father was a little kid cars had start buttons, and push button transmissions then it died out. Then for some reason it became cool to have again.

Hold the button for 3 seconds, it turns off ( at least that is how the Toyota system works )
But why on earth would you do that? The Steering wheel locks!!!you loose the power brakes. Now your REALLY screwed. Neutral is one click forward....:dunno: Let it bounce of the rev. limiter till you get pulled over, better to risk the engine then you. |
What some people don't know is that it takes twice the battery power to jump a car that uses a push button starter. Makes it tough if your battery ever dies.

No I am no joking actually. It might not be all start systems, but from what I know from working with KIA/Hyundai is that the system they have does require twice the power to jump the carwith the push start. I don't know why this is the case, but it seems there are much more electrical components than with a key and standard ignition system.
