Squeaky Clutch from the outside of the car
I have a squeaky clutch and the sound seems like it is coming from the outside of the car. This Is because when i open the door, i can hear the sound louder. My clutch pedal also used to squeak but that was a quieter squeak.
Now it is a louder squeak coming from somewhere and there is also some pedal feedback as it feels almost like a vibration when i am pressing it down. The thing is, this problem has been happening for a day or two and then it disappears for a long while. Recently it has been coming back more recently and it has been staying there for a week Is this a lubrication or a clutch problem? My car has 78k miles on it |
Jeff, I would think with the symptoms you have, the throw out bearing is the culprit, or, the springs in the pressure plate have fatigued, that would give you feed back thru the pedal, but I'd put money on the throw out bearing.

hey I've been having similar issues, except mine is noticeable more pronounced after rain/carwash etc. My clutch pedal snapped and I had it replaced last year, but that didn't fix the issue. It still squeaks, and i kinda know what you mean by pedal feedbak, especially after rain. When its dry out, its perfectly fine though! Please let me know if you find the culprit!!

If I can recall correctly.. you do not have to replace the throw out bearing.
It is just an annoyance. Dust can get up their and make them squeak. I believe some have had success squirting oil up there. Search for it and you should find it. Also, I thought there was a TSB. |
