It could, with U.S. emission modifications.

I'm not sure if there's a difference between the US and Japanese Rx-8 regarding emissions but if it's the same, you should have no problem importing it to the US.

If I had the money, I would much rather try to import a Spirit R rx-7 than that one;)

I wanna agree with pistonhater but importing Rx-7 Spirit-R is not possible, it's not the same as earlier FD so u gotta go thru all the hassle like run ur own crash test, twice, emission, and other paper work.

but I think once the 25 years limit is up more and more people will start importing all these cars ...
