No it was about a guy with a huge head that can't face up to being wrong .

Do you really want to start this up again?

really?

*snip* anyone know why this would be ?

sure you guys decided to argue each others math and have discussions of tire size and speedo percentages etc but it came back to

The JDM parts guide of '08 (which has all previous models) doesn't have a different 3rd gear until '07. '09 has yet a different set of ratios.
The reference is spurious.

more than once. either one of you could have done a simple search to end the whole thing regardless of Brett's fuzzy math or tire size. even after someone pointed to the correct info you guys kept arguing over it for two years and Brett is still bringing it up

this thread needed one of these

in 2006 to stop all the newb nonsense . hell the whole tire size thing had been discussed at length by january of 2003. everyone go read through those gear ratio threads for a referesher. all of those Buger and Rich threads/post should be required reading

My argument was never about anything other than to prove that:

My (+ all early JDMs) 3rd gear ratio is different to the early US spec. 3rd gear ratio.

There is an abundance of information in this thread proving that to be the case and as you rightly pointed out , a simple search would have solved the issue years ago .

Please explain further as I really thought there was only one issue here . What was the "wrong thing" I was arguing about ?

the MATH! getting involved in the tire size versus speed etc etc etc.

This thread fell apart pretty fast and for some reason still hangs around now.

The fact of the matter is the question has been answered, so there is no need to continue posting. It has just turned into a pissing contest now - everyone involved is just trying to not have their pride hurt.

Zoom, please just lock this thread and let it die

Gotya .

To be fair . No-one ever dissected the math to show any error there. If MM is going to call me out on poor math. He should at least have the courtesy of locating a mistake and doing his own math . He never did .

And I got drawn into the stupid tyre size/speedo error argument because it was his pathetic attempt at discrediting my initial observation.

Finally . This is for MM . Who made an extremely nasty personal attack on me in the E85 thread . His reaction to my post roughly translates to what Otto from 'a fish called Wanda' is saying here :
