Sound Like an Exhaust Leak ???

[warning: mic too close / turn speakers down]

Even though the computer was 10+ feet away from the car, it sounds like the mic is inside the freaking muffler

blakew15 04-30-2006 11:30 AM

not playing for me

mysql101 04-30-2006 11:37 AM

blake, you need quicktime installed to hear it.

It does sound nice, but if it's too loud, it would be obnoxious..

Moostafa29 04-30-2006 11:41 AM

Thats pretty loud, guess I can't really talk though. I don't hear the leak, just the popping at the end of the rev.

Dro 04-30-2006 11:45 AM

Yeah there is no exhaust leak, just extremely loud. I made some more clips just cruising around in the car, windows up, windows down, radio on, radio off

It is really not too bad, but when you step on it, it really is too bad. :naughty:

But hey what can I say, Im 19 years old.

Btw the whole exhaust leak thing came from a friend I sent the clip to. He said "Either you have an exhaust leak, or a small woodland creature is stuck in there somewhere."

Oh well haha, I dont think he knows about the rotaries.

Ha... the new cooper s actually has its ecu programmed to make that noise on "engine braking". Basically what you hear is your poor gas milage :) Your raw fuel being ass rammed into your sizzlin exhaust basically.

Rx-A-Ho 04-30-2006 05:03 PM

Sounds like an after market cat and an after market exhaust. This is what mine sounded like with RP cat and JIC Ti-exhaust. Louder than all holy hell but I liked it. No exhaust leak that I can hear. If you had one you would notice during idle.

You sir are good to go! Unless it is too loud for you.

Nah it sounds like music to me =D

Rx-A-Ho 04-30-2006 06:33 PM

Agreed. Don't worry and enjoy!!!
