Sorry this might be a dumb question.
How can I tell if my 8 has the TPMS ??
|
Quick answer: I believe TPMS was standard on all 8s, regardless of year and trim. If you still have the OEM wheels, you should still have the TPMS sensors on them.
Longer answer: If you go out to your car, let a bunch of air out of a tire, drive around the block (carefully, obviously, and make sure you have a pumping method on hand or you drive to a gas station that has one), you should get a 3-beep tone with a warning light on your dash. |
In order of convenience...
The TPMS (_) light should light up briefly whenever you fire up the engine. Let the air out of one of the tyres and the light will light up consistently when the engine's running. Look inside the tyres for the sensors. |
actually, without even having to deflate the tires, if the light isn't constantly flashing when you're driving, they have TPMS. it would be lit all the time if someone had swapped them out (assuming the light is working and comes on when you start the car).

even the sensors go bad... only two ways to know, one is the way CTRX8 said the other is go to a garage and pop the tires off, most ocasion the sensors go bad... just hope thye didn't
good luck |
i think the tpms was standard on the 8s minus the ones with the 16s

Spigot is right! Canadian models = no TPMS.......but head lightwashers! You guy should read where he posted from. Unless he bought a US model, he's SOL. |
