Soon to be owner! Question
Well Hello guys.
First of all I would like to say that the amount of information this forum has is unbelievable! I used to think that the rx8 as a car sucks - due to the fact that most people who had them had no idea of how to maintain them and i was never bothered to search further till recently- but boy was i wrong! Okay now to my question. I am well aware that the rx8 is 1300cc but is taxed as a 2.6L. My question is while registering the car, do they register it as 1300cc or 2600 and by that I mean in the ownership certificate how do they classify it, the actual engine displacement not the tax band! The reason that i am asking this is that I currently live in the UK and i want to buy my car from here to take it back home so if it is registered as a 2.6 it will cost me a liver for the import tax. thank you for your time and again keep up the good job! P.S: I searched all the possible word combos i could think of nothing came that specifies to that subject, sorry if I am reposting |
Where is here, that you are going to buy the car?
North America? In NA it is registered as a 1.3 L well Canada anyway |

Owners manual says 1300cc, so I would try to register it at that. Don't volunteer any unnecessary information ;) Make sure you get a compression test done at Mazda or a rotary shop before buying! Good luck!

You could probably find more answers if you look at the Regional Forums (search on the European sub forum). There are some people from Cyprus that could help you out. Perhaps an administrator could move your thread at the European forum.

The reason I need this info is due to the fact that the government requires a copy of the registration of the car from the country of origination, so it is something I cannot skip sadly. And for sure a compression test will be done!
cheers for responses |
