so heres my dilema....

I have a 99 Camry which i owe 1700 on still an i have been look to get rid of. Yesterday i was driving an the engine completely broke something blew a hole through it and the car just stopped.i knew it was gonna die soon so i been looking at an RX8. So anyone have any advice? i want to get an RX8 but my car is dead an i owe money alot of money. a local dealer has a yellow 2004 GT RX8 with 31k miles for 15k but im sure i can talk them down a little.

dozer 05-07-2009 11:36 AM

that sucks

9krpmrx8 05-07-2009 11:41 AM

1700 is a lot of money? If you think that then a used RX8 is not the car for you buddy. You should just trade it in, get 500 and have them tack the rest on to your loan.

dillsrotary 05-07-2009 11:43 AM

You are in no finiancial situation to get the rx8

mscamp02 05-07-2009 11:45 AM

when 1700 dollars becomes a problem dont think about getting something like a 15k used rx8

and if you're having bad luck with the reliability of a Toyota... an 8 also isnt for you haha.

Transam kid 01 05-07-2009 12:31 PM

get a more reliable, old, DD and let yourself get a little more financially stable

04RX8man 05-07-2009 12:46 PM

i agree with the above statements....but the yellow 8's are the fastest!!!

CyberPitz 05-07-2009 12:48 PM

Yeah, you're definitely not in the financial position to get a used 8. Sorry, but you're probably going to be better off getting another used older car until you get a bit more money.

Smoke Honda 05-07-2009 12:49 PM

You can buy my 8 for 15K and I'll give you 1700 to pay off your Camry. hehheh

ps2gamer02 05-07-2009 01:12 PM

well i figure if i can talk them down on the price to about 11k i can tack on the 1700 to the loan an wont be paying to much a month

renesisgenesis 05-07-2009 01:17 PM

uh, don't get a used sportscar unless you have more funds. Especially when you aren't done paying off your current car. Especially when it's the engine which has been updated since the 04 model. Pay off your current ride, then look into an 06 or later rx8 if you are still interested.

9krpmrx8 05-07-2009 01:17 PM

Yeah man but the problem is a used RX8 with no warranty is just not a good idea. If you can't afford $1700.00 then how are you gonna afford a few thousand for a new engine?

ps2gamer02 05-07-2009 01:29 PM

ok well thanks guys sucks i wont be able to get an rx8 but i guess your all right.

YaXMaNGTO 05-07-2009 01:37 PM

Dude. If your Toyota Camry's engine let go like that, I'm guessing you didn't care to maintain it. You get the RX8 and not pay to properly maintain it, your $1700 bill is going to look like a parking ticket compared what you're going to pay fix the 8.

Just tires are going to break your bank... and then you'll end up not replacing the tires, drive them on cords in the rain, and then spin out and total your car like a few doughbars on here did.

Buy a Civic. I really mean it this time.

You are a smart man. Thank you.

9krpmrx8 05-07-2009 01:44 PM

Yeah dude, I know you want this car but its just not time. Part of the reason the economy is a mess is because of people not being responsible and making poor financial decisions. You really should only buy a car that costs 1/3 of your yearly salary.

I can't tell you how many dudes I knew in the military driving bimmers that costs two years salary and then got their cars repossessed once they got out because they could not maintain the $800.00 monthly payments. I have a kid that works for me driving and STI paying $700.00 a month making $10/hr. It's just stupid. Really when you buy a car or a house you should put 20% down if you can. Some times you have to take risks but credit is very important later in life so don't screw it up.

YaXMaNGTO 05-07-2009 01:56 PM

And ps2gamer02... I'm sorry to hear about your car letting you down. That's a crappy feeling. i hope it all works out.

But since 9krpmrx8 still has the bandwagon going here... :D:

DUDE. Do not buy this car. You will singlehandedly melt the polar ice caps because of your financial burden. Volcanos will erupt. Hair will grow where it's not supposed to. Techno will become popular again. Zombies and shit.

Don't buy it.

renesisgenesis 05-07-2009 02:08 PM

I make 16/hour and pay 297.00 per month. for an 08' model; is that reasonable?

RXheart 05-07-2009 02:11 PM

Since you are a ps2 gamer, just drive it on Gran Turismo 4 until you have saved enough to buy one flat out.

two zero two 05-07-2009 02:26 PM

also, you have to at least be a ps3 gamer in order to own an rx8

Depends on your debt but you must have traded in, put money down, or got a really great deal which is good.
