side skirts too low

hey guys i was wondering, for those of you who have side skirts on your 8, are the dealers able to use their hydraulic lifts to service your car or when you go buy new rims and tires? i was planning on putting up the mazdaspeed skirts on mine but don't know if it would be too low and go pass the metal railing under the car.

They should be able to yes. I had mazdaspeed skirts on my car at one point in time and the dealer would know what to do without damaging them. But I also know of someone who had their mazdaspeed skirts broken by the dealer because they used the wrong points and the lift posts crushed the skirt. What they will probably do is either drive the car onto pre-ramps or get it in place and use a standard jack to raise the car enough to swing the lift posts underneath.

^^ what alz0rz said, i just had mine on the lift at a shop here and he said the same thing, the key to not hurting or damaging them is to use the proper lift points, once he got it up in the air he showed me etc.

im lowered on eibachs and I havent had a problem so you should be fine. they could use ramps/wood blocks if necessary too

damn that sucks....

but yeah alright it seems that it wouldnt be TOO much of a problem. i'm just curious as to why mazda didn't take this into consideration when they designed the skirts or what not. it wouldve been easier and less of a hassle if the metal railings under the car would be a bit bigger wouldn't it?...

Don't lower your car too much and this would never ever happen.

When I responded to the OP I mentioned a friend who had his mazdaspeed skirts destroyed by the dealer, he wasn't lowered.
It can and it will.

I have to jack both ends to get mine on a hoist...

Solve the stupidity problem by staying away from the dealer :)
