They fold manually in the US and electronically in some other countries.

You have to fold them in manually.
In other words, with your hands.

For starters, all cars in the USA (not sure when this became a law) must have fold-in mirrors.

And..I'm willing to bet you spent more time making this thread, then you would have spent going out to the car and finding out for yourself..It's not like the crease area in the mirror is "hidden" or anything..

My guess is he doesn't have one to check with. That's why he asked.

Mine fold rearward and forward. There is a preset position midway where they stay put.

If it is a law, someone must have forgotten to tell Toyota. I just left a Toyota dealership and very few of there models have fold in mirrors.

The reason that some have power fold in mirrors is for countries like Japan. I lived there for a year. The garage doors are so small that anything the size of a Corolla or bigger had to have the mirrors folded in to get into the garage. They also have these lifts in parking lots almost like you see in a mechanics garage. You pull onto it, get out, push a button, up goes your car. That way someone else can park under you. They also are narrow and may require the mirrors to be folded in. God bless the USA.

My Brother's 05 Altima has no fold in mirrors. Cant even fold it all.

I know I can fold my mirrors, its just that I like electronic ones better. (If theres one for the 8)

Folding mirrors are an invention by the auto industry to save space on cargo ships. As far as I know, there is no law (in the US) mandating that mirrors have to be foldable. That said, yes the rx8 mirrors fold in- you just have to push them and not be too afraid of breaking em.
