yup i have a FC thats over 150k and runs like a dream, i expect over 200k at the rate this engine is going at

First off, i took the time to read through that integra thread and I must say I applaud your efforts, very nice work!

The rx8 doesn't have flooding problems anymore. I've woken up first thing in the morning, turned on the car, backed up 10ft and turned it off again to wash it on more then one occasion. I've never had a problem. So dont worry about that.

As far as everything but straight line speed the rx8 is in a completely different class then the srt4. The interior, the drive, the handling, the exterior looks, the rx8 is just plain bad ass.

But for 1200 bucks you can make the srt4 fly, where as 1200 hundred bucks on the rx8 will get your 3 hp.

RX8, yes. Integra, bye bye. I have had 20+ patients who were mechanics, oddly none of them ever remember working on rotory engines. That's probably 350+ years of mechanic experience, meaning that the rotory engine is reliable.

I'm sure that also has to be due to the fact that rotories make up such a SMALL SMALL percentage of the engines that are out there that chances are mechanics could go their entire careers without seeing one.... (kind of a little spoof off of the movie topgun about the mig28 :D )

Good point cleoent. Several of them were fabricators as well and were asked, over the years to work on several unique projects, none of which included rotories. At least, good thing there aren't many familiar with the engine, right?

I actually wish more people would use rotaries, that would speed up devolopment of new technologies and stuff for them.

all i have to say is an integra is a honda, and honda=no respect from me ever, people disgraced those cars, so if you think you grew up and became a man now then yea RX8 will make you r dreams come true.

I'm still new around here, but 8 is the best car I ever owned.

SGT - My last car was a 97 Teg GSR. I traded my 88 RX7 for it and I regretted it nearly every day until I bought my 8 last year. My RX-7 had over 150,000 miles on it when it was traded. Biggest expense during the four years I owned it? The exhaust fell off. Replaced everything from the cat back and all was fine after that. Don't get me wrong, my Integra was a good car, but it was FWD and the handling is nothing compared to the 8. Overall the RX-8 is a much better car. The only thing the Honda has over Mazda (and just about every other manufacturer except maybe Toyota) is reliability. Hondas last practically forever.

Rotary engines last a long time provided you're willing to take care of them. Keeping the engine at a safe operating temp is key. Overheat a rotary engine and it's pretty much done. They deinitely require a little more attention than a boinger. You can't just fill it up with gas 'n go like you could with your Teg. The Renesis uses oil in its regular operation, so it's necessesary to check it more often then you would a regular car. They're higher maintenance cars, but the payoff is soooo worth it IMNSHO. :D

by higher maintenance do you mean look at the dipstick once a month? if so, then the payoff is worth it a million times over...

I check my oil and my coolant level once a week. ;)

I think thats a good practice regardless of the car you own...I mean it only takes a few seconds.
