Shock Sensor kit: not having the diode update BAD for the car?

hi all

recently got the shock sensor thing from mazda and installed it flawlessly WITHOUT the diode update thingy. And of course i had the "flickering dome light issue" so this weekend I got dirty again and put the diode update on. I followed the instructions EXACTLY as stated and while the dome sensor light issue is solved, the car does not go off with the alarm when you slap the front. Before you think it - no the shock sensor ISNT fried because I can put the whole system back to PRE-diode conditions and it works flawlessly (but with the dome light flicker issues returning)

My question is: right now the diode is back on there, but my shock sensor system is 100% useless (i.e. not working) I want to have this system working but fear the flickreing is going to hurt something? If i put everything back to like it was would the flickering of the lights/power system hurt anything, i.e. my locks? or stereo equipment?

I want to go to mazda to have them fix it but i dont want them to charge 85 dollars for some BS work. Before you think i'm an idiot I seriously did make sure the diode update was installed properly.

Do you think I could take this to mazda and tell them to take a look under some type of warrenty? Could the diode thingy be bad? What are my options. I can live the the flickering for a bit as long as my shock sensor works and its not going to be hurting anything.

Thanks!
Jeff
