Shinka for sale -- Need opinions

This is for sale near me. Wondering about everyone's thoughts, questions, comments, points to ponder about it. Is this worth the investment? Should i hold off, wait for something a little newer?

Of course, should i get it, i'll have to change my screen name... LOL.

I've offered them at the moment, $20k out the door. that's tax, title everything. If all goes well (and the results of the poll don't sway me otherwise), i'll get the car friday afternoon.

Your knowledgeable, experience driven opinions are very welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Mathew

20K for 2005 with 41K miles? Seems pretty expensive....lol

my car has 42K ..and it's winning blue with black leather....fully loaded just like that car....plus the navi system. I put it on craigslist for sale a few months ago ..just to see how much I would get............. The most I got was 16K ......that's it.

Depending on any bumper-to-bumper extension for a certified car you're getting jobbed at 20k for that. Aside from the color theres not much of a reason to get a Shinka (and I love the color). There's definitely no reason to pay a premium on it.

Here's an 04 at Cascade that they're selling for 17.5 with 10k fewer miles:

http://www.cascadeautogroup.com/temp...rchvkid=314907

Tell the folks in Wootown that you're leaning towards that one and see if you can get them under 17.5. Also double check on the bumper-to-bumper.

Most '04s/05's with ~30k miles are selling around $15k in the for sale section. There's a NG with 5k miles in Michigan selling for $17k although I refuse to allow any more greens in my neck of the woods. ;)

PS. You know we know people who work in that dealership, right? Not sure they can get you a better deal but they MIGHT be able to get you a better deal. Sometimes it's worse to know someone at a dealership if they don't work in the sales dept. The sales guys will screw over their own grandma for a 20k day. And that's true almost everywhere - no idea if Wooster is better/worse than average.

Oh and there's this too in Cincy:

It's black too. Look around that FS section and you'll probably find quite a few for sale within driving distance.

Would like as much feedback with reasoning as possible.

Thanks for your thoughts so far!!!

What is it with the Shinka's showing up at Park? :P Obsidian...talk with tiresmoker (Brian)...he picked up his Shinka at Park. Personally I think your offer is high like everyone else.

For example...here is an 04 w/ 28K miles on it for $16K...and it is black so you can keep your name. :P

Woah! That's an Auto. What are you trying to do? You know we don't let him into our meets if he gets an automatic, John. ;)

I bought my Shinka last January for 20K and it only had 20K miles on it.

Shinka_MJR 08-04-2008 08:47 PM

so if $20k tax, title, etc out the door is too much, what's a good price?

and yes, no autos please

If you really want a Shinka AND really want a car from a dealer then getting it under 19k out the door is a decent price and you should probably be aiming for under 18. Really with an 8 at Cascade with nearly all the same features, 10k less, and priced at 17.5 before tax/title/negotiation they'd be retarded to not come down near that. Make sure they're giving you an extended bumper-to-bumper too.

8's just aren't much in demand with the fuel prices and the end of the Summer isn't going to increase their demand since lots of 8 owners garage 'em in the Winter.

i've also found This One which i believe i can do for $23k out the door. need to talk with the sales guy tomorrow though to confirm. we left it up in the air. I am honestly leaning towards the 40th more i think now. $3k more for a brand new car and the goodies just seems like a no brainer.

DeViLbOi 08-04-2008 09:09 PM

And I love that color soooo much more than Black Cherry Mica....the interior on the other hand. But yes...no brainer there.

Shinka_MJR 08-04-2008 09:14 PM

honestly, i dont think the two tone red interior is that bad. It's more of a rust than a red color and ya, the grey color rocks!!

I drove the one that Park has and had a blast. They, however refuse to budge even an inch on the price except what the manufacturer is offering for incentives right now... regardless of the season, etc. They've had their 40th since feb-mar. Hell you can see snow in the pics of the car ROFL. So they've been sitting on it for a while but still refuse to budge. The dealer in columbus said that smaller dealers just hold on to their inventory as if it were diamonds and refuse to do anything on price beyond what they are specifically obligated to due to manufacturer stipulations.

Ah well, looks like road trip come saturday, should i get good news from there. The guy there said he'd be glad to work out a deal for me and considering the long drive, if i happen to walk away without a car because a deal / agreement couldn't be made, he said he'd pay for a tank of gas for me to get home. Cant be that... not even with a stick!

Ricart will have a 12k mile VR 06 GT posted very soon. I am confident you can get that car for the 20k out the door (or less, maybe way less) you are talking about. I have personal experience with this car and can give you the lowdown on it.

lilring 08-04-2008 11:01 PM

GO FOR IT!! its a good buy

BRGREEN8 08-04-2008 11:43 PM

shinkas are overrated. get the 40th ann. edition, even though the interior color isnt the best. it sure is nice.

WireBoy 08-05-2008 11:05 AM

Here's one with slightly more miles at a pretty nice price in Ohio...

Another one from a forum member in Jersey...
