does anyone know where i can buy a replacement shift knob for an rx-8 online or if i can just go to the dealer and if they will give me one.

nope, each shift knob is specially designed for a spasifik car. If you loose/break yours then your in a world of hurt. I heard the cars doesnt even start if the serial number on the shift knob doesnt match your cars computer serial number.


Seriously, there are plenty of places that can get the OEM knob just open your eyes. THe dealer could get it as well but i am sure its pricey

yeah i've seen tons on ebay for like 25 bucks i even saw a carbon fiber one which was pretty nice but not my style!

Do a search........there are at least a couple of threads on shift knobs!
And....."No", the dealer isn't going to give you one! :suspect:

the only thing the dealer gives you is the check....

How the hell did you break a shift knob if you don't mind me asking?

I think he meant his shift knob's shiny thing is chipping. Like the one below

the silver top of my shift knob broke, my dealership replaced it under the b2b warranty.

i got rid of it 7k miles later. i sold it and at the same time bought a used mazdaspeed shift knob. i was without a shift knob for a few days (shipping) but man it was worth it.

Couple other vendors can get you used or new ones. I know RX8Strakes.com did some buys on knobs a while back.

Or get a relatively cheap upgrade and get the MS shift knob from there.
