I have one of the cleanest second gen rx-7 I have seeing, 23,000 original miles never beeng hit , 247 rwhp, and many mods, stetic most of them, the thing is I want an rx-8 and I need to get the funds, but everyone I have talk to tells me that im crazy an not to sell the car.

but as any old car it has gotteng very hard to mainteing, not expensive but a lot of small problems.

im getting a really good offer $5,000

what do you guys think?

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ighlight=bored

here are some old pics the car is basically the same

SoFL_RX8 07-13-2006 08:17 AM

With 23k original miles and a clean title Id certainly think you could fetch more than 5k for it... shoot, Ill buy that car for 6K if you seriously thinking about letting it go for 5, if I was in the DR that is. Forreal though, hold out a bit longer, Im sure you can get more than that.

Lemme know when youre selling that cosmo, Ill give it a good home :)

UhateMyRX8 07-13-2006 08:22 AM

5K? sounds too cheap. I would hold on, someone will pick it up for more. Cosmo?

Punksux 07-13-2006 08:22 AM

how much is it to import it to the states. I assume the car is in Dominican Republic

rotary crazy 07-13-2006 08:22 AM

I think your right, the car is in really good conditions, it drives like a new car.

I think you may have some problems getting the cosmo in the states legally

rotary crazy 07-13-2006 08:23 AM

yes its here, i dont know how much to get it in( if you have to pay some tax or something) but the freight its $700 to 1300

Red Devil 07-13-2006 08:25 AM

I assume it's the yellow one you're selling. I agree with everyone one else, if it's that good of condition 5K may be a bit too cheap.

rotary crazy 07-13-2006 08:29 AM

yes its the yellow one, the paint is lamborgini yellow, I sold the black one a few month ago to get the cosmo

Punksux 07-13-2006 08:32 AM

it may be a little cheap, but assuming that someone buys it in the states and it is difficult to go and test drive the car. One would have to purchase it blind folded. Also not to mention all the import cost for the car.

rotary crazy 07-13-2006 08:37 AM

I dont think it be worht it for somebody to bring it to the states, too much trouble, theres is a purto rico vs santo domingo drag race event this sunday maybe ill take the car there with a for sale sign and see what happens, those puerto ricans pay a lot of money for rotarys.

I really want an rx-8 :rollingla my plans where to drop a 20b in it I even have the engine but I fell in love with a friends rx-8, ever since i would have sold the house to get one but my wife dint let me :wallbash:

SoFL_RX8 07-13-2006 08:42 AM

I would by it sight unseen if I had the money... and Id sell my Impala tomorrow if I could buy that Cosmo, regardless of its legality. I would DEF. break a small law if it meant owning a Cosmo, not even a question.

But yea, dont let it go for anything less than 8k Id say... its def. worth that it not more, and SOMEONE out there will appreciate it for what it is and give you a REAL offer. Be pacient, it will pay off big time, I assure you. GL with the sale!

If you drive it, you would be willing to break a couple of laws :rollingla

the guy that its making the offer its going to do what I wanted for the car, his taking a 20b he has on a old school datsun and putting it in the car

knight7 07-14-2006 02:04 AM

i think that whatever we tell you here is not gonna make a difference, if you really want the car i say just sell it and get the RX8, if thats what you want. whatever makes you happy. i love my car, but the truth is i can used a lil more power than its got. thats my only complaint, and the fact that mazda sucks bad on support.

Moostafa29 07-14-2006 06:51 AM

Hold out a month or two, but then again I don't know the market value in your country.

rotary crazy 07-14-2006 07:07 AM

thanks for all the advice

the thing is that its getting really frustrating that the car allways has something bad in it, little things but is really anoyng, like door handles breaking, air conditioner buttons breaking it is a 15 year old car afther all.

about power, well I dont want to star anything here but really you dont get to use much power on the street unless you brake a few laws, and I have mi fd and my cosmo for that :smoker: , right now I want a good looking car with enoug power, and with all the mods that are coming along I think the rx-8 its going to be more than enoug

nzarnow 07-25-2006 04:08 AM

You have to be the most honest seller I have ever seen on the internet. I hope everything works out for you and all of your cars are absolutly awesome!

rotary crazy 07-25-2006 06:36 AM

the car has beeng sold to a friend of mine, you guys where right i was asking too little for the car, I got another fc in good shape , $5000 in cash and since he is my rotary mecanic I got $2000 on labor that I had to pay him for a couple of things he dit to my race car :mdrmed:

I think I made a good deal and thats $7000 that are going into the get an rx-8 fund

Asmoran 07-25-2006 07:35 AM
