See it built

My Dad went back to Bowling Green when he ordered his '99 C5. Does Mazda have a facility in NA? Where is the RX-8 being built? And does Mazda offer any sort of program like this?

All of Mazda's Rotary powered vehicles have been build at the Hiroshima plant in Japan. The RX-8 is being build on the same line as the RX-7.

Well....

Aren't the Renesis engines going to be built in the U.S though? I read that's where rotary engines have been built for years and that a new contractor will be assigned to build the Renesis somewhere in the Southern U.S:confused:

Remanufactured rotaries are built in Jacksonville, FL. They will most likely rebuild the Renesis motors also once they get "seed" engines from Japan.

The RX-8 will most likely be built in Hiroshima, which I believe they build all their rotary engines.

I don't think you'll ever see the RX-8 made in the USA.

Mazda does have 1 plant in the United States. It is located in Flat Rock, Michigan just south of Detroit. They have built the 626 there since the mid-80's I think, though for awhile 626's in the US came from either there or Japan (my 1990 was built in Japan, but my uncles 1990 626 was made in Flat Rock). They used to build the MX-6 and Ford Probe there, as well as the Mercury Cougar. Now, for about the past week or two, there is only the Mazda6 coming from that factory.

I believe they do tours as well.

God, please don't let Mazda assemble the engines in the US.. :(
