Scheduled oil change under warranty
 

How do you know what oil the dealer uses on your 8 under warranty? Specifically how do you know they are NOT using synthetics on your rotary?

Like a dealer would spend money on synthetic when they didn't have to?

If you care about the warranty, ultimately all that matters is having a receipt saying the change was done.

you can ask them what oil they use. or you can bring yours.

First off why would it matter if they were using synthetics in the first place?

Because Mazda recommends against using synthetics, and there is at least one thread here saying that Mazda denied engine warranty claims because synthetic was used. I'm not saying if synthetic is good or bad, just pointing out the concern.
