Saying good bye to the 8 (soon...)

So ive ownd my shinka for over a year now. Unforuently a couple months of that were spent in the shop getting a new engine but its been an adventure to say the least. Ive had the honor of putting many kms, on her as ive driven her mostly across canada twice and do a large amount of highway driving and city driving.

However after starting up my car yesterday only to find (once again) misfires, low compression, and overall shittyness ive decided to sell after the winter. Its hard to believe that the 8 is so crappy on gas, and has so many issues with engines (even when taken very good care of) when it just feels like such a great car. If mazda says the engine is pooched again (which we will find out this week) it will have been my second swap in 6 months.

However with that being said (and to all those interested in future purchase) I still think everyone should have the experiance to drive one let alone own one. I still think it is the nicest driving, most practical, great looking, and overall fun that you can get in for that price point. Sure i had to walk for 2 months while it was in the shop, and sure the drive from my place to the closest town took nearly a quarter tank (35km each way) but ill tell you there really isnt a faster more fun way to get there.

So, until time comes in the spring to sell, I'll sit and wonder if i'll have the guts to give it up, assuming it may be the very last of its kind and with how much ive become atached. Only time will tell i guess.

Big ups to the rx8 club and the massive amount of knowledge let alone time put in by members to help keep everyones ride going strong. Ill post after the car hits the dealership and i find out what the issues are.

Cheers everyone, best of luck with the 8's and hopefully you dont go through what i have.

Good luck with your engine. Usually if engines go quickly a second time around it ends up being one of the accessories (not short block). Hopefully it's something simple.

Sorry for the headaches it cause you. Anyway, good luck with your next ride and keep in touch.
