As a few of you may have noticed, I had to change my sig a couple of days ago because my wife's Nordic Green '8' AT was stolen last Wednesday..... and found the a few hours later about 30 miles away, completely wrecked... (Literally upside down just after a tight bend on a quiet, little used road near Sacaton for your fellow AZ'ers here) I tried to get over there to take photos but the 'flat bed' for the insurance company, had already been and gone by the time we got there the next morning... (it was found at about 3am Thursday morning by Maricopa Police Patrol )

Needless to say it was a complete write-off and although no one was apparently hurt during the roll over... the police think that the thief has some very serious bruises to deal with but anyhow..... so no more '8' for my wife........

This sad tale has a happy ending however as the insurance company, Farmers Union Insurance, were amazingly quick to handle everything for us. We had full coverage including 100% payoff with only a $250 deductable.. and so on Monday morning they called us and told us they had wiped out the loan.. and that we were free to go buy another '8' through the same finance company if we so wished. We called then straight away and they confirmed that the payoff was a 'done deal' and so we could go back to our Mazda dealer and start again from fresh!

Unfortunately the dealer had only got one Nordic Green '8' left in stock.. and that was a base package only.. so we looked at a Titanium '8' AT Touring Package.. (They had only got 3 '8's with the GT package but only in Black and Silver.. neither of which my wife liked..) The price, with the original ESM discounts we had negotiated for both my MT and the original AT, was still honored by them plus we got an extra $1000 discount for being 'long term customers'... so, after much debating we grabbed the Titanium '8' AT TP with a few extras.. perimeter alarm like mine... plus extended 100K warranty etc.. for $28939 inc.. (Odd both having the same color but anyhow..) and she drove it home that same night!

If they had had a Nordic Green AT TP we would have bought that.. but they didn't and the other dealers in town are not ESM members.. and despite trying to get them to price match the original dealer's price & discount.. none would.. so we settled on the 'Grey' and she is very happy with it.. Funnily enough she decided not to go for the GT package as she prefered the cloth seats of mine compared to the leather seats of her GT... and so, in a way.. it was a good thing it got stolen.. because now, apart from the color, she has the exact car and package she prefers best....

So, as my updated sig shows.. we are now the proud owners of 2 Titanium '8's...... both built in 04/04.... and loving it!!!!!!

Glab everything works out for you. One question.......how did the thiefs steal the car? DIdn't your car have immoblizer?

Unknown as i don't have a full report back yet.. but yes, it had the standard security system installed.. (Though not the perimeter upgrade like both our MT and new AT...)
