Starter motor must burned out, if you were able to ear it spin, without turning over the motor, the main shaft must have snapped somewhere before the gear. Would result in a over spinning rpm witch could had the electric motor to melt.
Before you install a new one inspect all surrounding wires for melt wires insulation.

Thanks i ordered a new motor should be here friday when i replace it ill check the wires see if they got caught up i checked to see if it would start today just to see and no cranks just that noise no more smoke though thank you. kind of just want to make sure i didnt over look something!

I accidently posted it twice just a question about weither or not starter is the only problem right now im underneath my car right now and the top bolts a b**** to get out...

tbiggybig 06-13-2015 11:03 PM

Replaced the starter motor and its still having hot start issues i dont think it was an upgraded one :/

BigCajun 06-14-2015 07:42 AM

Hot start issues are a symptom of bad compression.

tbiggybig 06-14-2015 02:24 PM

Yeah i know but i dont have any symptoms of power loss... so i dont think thats it (by dont think i mean hoping its deffinatly not haha) it doesnt have any problems cold starting or pop starting when hot like it can roll 2 ft and pop in second gear it still gets up and goes just today i was going 80 mph in 3rd gear 8000 rpms

Roytary 06-15-2015 03:20 AM

When my compression started dropping in it's early stages, I had warm start issues but no power loss and no engine light. Not saying that's definitely the issue, just saying not to completely rule it out..

Did you get a compression test during that time? Because ill get one if itll tell me something im not sure if the whole engine failure is like instant without any big prior signs for some people idk if it varies or what but i cleaned my cat the other day (it was pretty badly plugged) i think that helped my hot start problem a bit not sure i got used to just not shutting it off for quick stops (like gas) i drive it really hard usually when it happens so if i happen to stall itll take like 5-15mins to cool and start up again no problem when i drive it normally 3-5k shifts nice and slow if i shut it off then it doesnt give me much problems

For the most part the symptoms are all the same.
That said, not everyone will show the same symptoms of failure.

My other half had so many symptoms, he was lucky every time the car ran at all, and his compression wasn't terribly low yet. Then there's mine, I had a few minor symptoms, and ended up having low compression as well.

I did go and get a compression test, which told me my compression was reading low and I also misfires. Tried replacing the coils (those can throw the readings), compression still low. Got a new engine, and at the moment I have no issues.

Compression test is great piece of mind even if that ends up not being a problem :)

^ That, what about your fuel pump?

Hmm maybe ill get a compression test but idk i havent even thought about the fuel pump to be honest i dont have problems starting up cold. I dont even know how to begin to check how well thats operating but before i do all that im going to get a compression test try to rule things out but if i have compression loss i might not even keep the car sadly :/
