RX8 Starter-Flywheel

Under normal driving conditions.....it went for 2 or 3 weeks and would only start once in awhile.......and of course everytime I had it dropped off for Mazda to check it would start fine........then after about the 3rd time in their shop they replaced the starter......got it home and next day it wouldn't start....this time they sent mechanics to my house so that they could see the problem 1st hand.........then they found the flywheel was broke........not good for only 3700 miles.........

Metal fatigue in the flywheel probably. Not that uncommon, really. You're gonna get a bad part in manufacturing now and then. Sorry it had to be you, but my guess its a fairly isolated occurrence.

So, did you opt for the lighter flywheel?
