You'll love the RP shifter.

You can get a VooDoo Knob. They fit for sure.
You should avoid the ones that attach with a set screw.

rp = axial flow sts? where can i get the voodoo knob?

Razz1 02-03-2008 03:15 PM

check the internet.

voodoo knobs work well, I use the piano black one, but they usually amplify the transmission noise, and so you'll hear whirrring noises more than usual. If you're super anal about hearing noises from your car, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, the voodoo knobs are great.

ok i dont like the voodoo. lol i think ill get the sparco. i want it to be the same style as stock. anyway rp=axial flow right?

Yes

RP = Richard Paul, forum member. maker of AFE shifters

BTW, I never notice the tranny noise except occasional syncro noise

^Yeah i agree with DarkBrew, i have the Pearl voodoo shift knob and i love it, the feel is sooo much nicer then the stock knob. only bad thing is it gets really cold in cold weather, and flaming hot when it's hot out. so have a driving glove handy.

zerobio 02-03-2008 06:15 PM

I'm so looking forward to both my ss and voodoo. C'mon mail ...

What's a good site for the VooDoo knobs? I couldnt find an official site with a list of products... only thing I found showed a few vendors and such... what's recommended?

Aipex8 02-04-2008 12:48 AM

This is where I bought mine http://www.thompson-automotive.com/voodoo.html

Just wondering why people arfe wearing out the shift knob.

if both hands are on the wheel there really is very little time with your hand on the shifter.

One of my pet peaves with new performance driving students. They insist on holding onto the steering wheel with one hand and shifter with the other.

DarkBrew 02-04-2008 08:23 AM

I guess they like a knob in their hand...

I got rid of mine because the top metal cap broke free and started buzzing at certain RPM ranges.

The Voodoo feels much better

Hahaha awesome thread title

Joe,

I bought a custom Voodoo knob from a user here on the club. Didn't wear my original knob out, just wanted a different look. Also, since I've made the change, I've noticed just how "uncomfortable" the original knob was. The smooth ball style of the Voodoo feels nice, is easy to grip and doesn't dig into my hand like the stock shifter did.

I drive with both hands on the wheel, but still managed to wear the aluminum paint off the stock knob. High pH balance skin maybe. It wasn't that bad, but I was looking for an excuse to get rid of that awkward feeling rotary shaped knob anyway.

klepto 02-04-2008 10:50 AM

Im glad to hear that I am not the only one that felt like the rotary feel to the OEM shift knob was a bit unnatural in the palm.

Personally I dont want a round knob so that leaves options very hard...

Im considering either the veilside or Greddy knob
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA:IT&ih=011
but Im also conteplating this ebay knob...not expensive at all but looks small and very nice.

what do you guys think? Do any of you have it?
