If you can quickly tune in, Top Gear on the Discovery channel is about to show the RX8 review within the hour. Try to catch it. On now/Wednesday night

watching that now...currently talking about a guy that build a car in his kitchen...crazy

Not any more... he returned it. Had a lot of electrical issues with the alarm going off all the time and stuff. A shame, really.

By the way, I wonder what Discovery Channel are you guys watching... Is it the East Coast schedule? Top Gear will only be at 10 PM on the West Coast, and it's 7:43 PM here. Still the American Chopper is on...

Yes it is a rerun of the program.......he liked the car except for no torque and poor fuel economy....but he loved the handling, performance, looks, practicality, etccc

There I was. Sitting infront of my widescreen TV. 7.1 reciever cranked up. On comes the RX8 segment and it's cut. Half of the bloody episode is gone including the run on the test track. I'm verry dissappointed.

hahaha, that is such a old show i saw that 2 years ago when i lived in the UK.
Still dont understand why they didnt race it around the clock, although i guess its not really in the lambo league lol.

They do race it around the track. Does the same as the 350z and M3 iirc. I have the full video footage. I'm guessing in the rerun they just didn't show all of it.

I will watch. I'm in Alaska and it comes on in about an hour and forty-five minutes. (9:00pm Alaskan) Looking forward to it.

After 100+ thread on it I tend to disagree...

It seems thier chopping up episodes alot. I think they didn't show the test track portion because in the original, they reference it as being the same times as a bmw m3 and the 350, neither of which have actually been tested in the show as of yet (well on american tv at least). So I would expect the track results to be shown at some later time on another episode, as they start to fill out the track times...

It really is shocking to me that the 8 bests some of those cars (elise, 575). I've seen all the episodes from the past 2 years and have been perplexed by some of the times. Often cars you'd expect to do really well underpeform on Top Gear's track. IIRC, the track only has one straightaway so the advantage goes to the best balanced, "best handling" car. I guess there aren't enough straightways or soft corners where the high-HP cars would pull away.

Anyway, when I started watching Clarkson's review of the 8 I was worried he'd bash it and call it underpowered. But to my surprise (and satisfaction) he absolutely loved it.
